On 12 – 15 December 2011, SEAMEO Regional Centre for QITEP in Language conducted the Workshop on Revision of Syllabus on Training on Teaching Methodology for Indonesian Language for Foreign Learners. Using Ibis Mangga Dua Hotel in Jakarta as the venue, the workshop was held due to the feedback coming from language teachers who attended the training on Teaching Methodology for Indonesian for Foreign Learners from 2009 to 2010 (i.e. 3 batchs). The language teachers provided input to the Centre in order to revise the syllabus to meet the needs of learners of Indonesian as a foreign language.

For the workshop, the Centre was able to gather 22 experts from varoius institutions and universities as a curriculum developer team. They worked in two groups and by the end of the workshop they produced two drafts of syllabus consisting of methodology and linguistics.
