The Second Annual International Symposium of Foreign Language Learning

( The 2^nd AISOFOLL)

SEAMEO QITEP in LANGUAGE held The Second Annual International Symposium of Foreign Language Learning (The 2^nd AISOFOLL) that took theme “Building Awareness on Standard Implementation for Foreign Language Learning in South East Asia Region”. The symposium was held for two days from 29 to 30 November 2011 at Millennium Hotel, Jakarta.

The 2^nd AISOFOLL aimed to bring together teachers, lecturers, post graduate students, and researchers with interest in foreign language other than English (German, Japanese, Chinese, Arabic, and Indonesian as a Foreign Language) learning and teaching at all levels from SEAMEO member countries and affiliate member countries to discuss and share the existing foreign language learning standards, case studies, and best practices.

The Keynote Speakers of this 2^nd AISOFOLL were Prof Hermann Funk from Friedrich-Schiller-Universitat Jena Germany, Prof Tse Shek Kam from University of Hongkong, and Mr Kakazu Katsumi from The Japan Foundation, Bangkok. This symposium is also participated by SEAMEO QITEP in Language Research Grants winners from Indonesia and Thailand. The total speakers in this symposium are 27 speakers.

The Resolution of the 2^nd AISOFOLL were about societal issues, teaching and learning issues, policy issues, implementation in curriculum,  implementation in textbook, implementation in teaching and learning, and scenario and themes for further symposium.
