SEAMEO TROPMED Thailand is pleased to announce its international training course in August – September 2011 as follows:

1) 3rd International Training Course on Tropical Pediatrics, during 22-26 August 2011, Bangkok, Thailand http://www.tm.mahidol.ac.th/seminar/tropical-pediatrics-2011.htmThe course objective is to provide knowledge and experience in the diagnosis and management of common diseases in children, with particular reference to endemic diseases in Southeast Asian countries including dengue infection, malaria, and leptospirosis.This course consists of lectures and discussion. Case studies and ward rounds in a hospital in a tropical-disease endemic area will be arranged, so that participants will gain real experience in tropical diseases. The course will be conducted entirely in English.

2) 9th International Training Course on Management of Malaria, during 29 August–2 September 2011, Bangkok, Thailand

Provided participants the most updated information regarding to anti-malarial drugs in the treatment of severe malaria, review and train participants in the laboratory diagnosis of malaria and understand the recent pathogenesis of malaria.This course consists of lectures, case studies and discussion, laboratory practices and demonstrations, and bedside ward rounds.
