A training on the finance management system of SEAMEO was held from 28 February to 11 March 2011 in SEAMEO QITEP in Science in Bandung. The event was initiated by SEAMEO Secretariat which aimed to give a better understanding on the process of standardised financial reports for all SEAMEO Centres.

Three new SEAMEO Centres in Indonesia, namely SEAMEO QITEP in Science, SEAMEO QITEP in Language, and SEAMEO QITEP in Mathematic as well as and Regional Training Centre (RETRAC) from Vietnam attended the training. Three trainers from SEAMEO Secretariat consisting of a finance manager and two accountants acted as the resource persons. During the training, the participants learned how to create Funds Status Report, Schedule of External Receipt, Schedule of Funds Expenditures, Trial Balance and other funds reports which will be reported monthly and yearly to SEAMEO Secretariat.

The participants also did some exercises concerning the financial reports by completing a whole month of financial transaction given by the trainers.

As a follow-up, SEAMEO Secretariat will hold another workshop on the same topic. It will take place at SEAMEO QITEP in Language, Jakarta from 29 May to 11 June 2011. This second workshop will evaluate the financial reports for January 2011 until April 2011.
