The Visit of the Delegates of Goethe Institut Jakarta, Indonesia to SEAMEO QITEP in Language

On 24 March 2011, SEAMEO Regional Centre for QITEP in Language received a visit of the delegates of Goethe Institute Jakarta. The delegates consisted of Mr Jurgen Lenzko, Deputy Director; Mrs Janette Dukes, advisor for German language teaching; and Mr Hartono Pangi, from the Education Cooperation Division. They were welcomed by Centre Director: Dr Felicia N Utorodewo and the management team.

During the visit, the possibility to develop further cooperation between the Centre and Goethe Institute Jakarta on the quality enhancement of German language teachers was discussed. The meeting also discussed the possiblity to conduct a joined activity between the two institutions which will be able to introduce Germany and its culture to a wider audience. Among the results agreed are that Goethe Institute will send one language expert to be a key speaker in the second AISOFOLL which will be held November 2011 and another expert to be evaluator of research proposals for SEAQIL Research Grant of 2011.
